Project Description: The Free Library of Philadelphia digitized images related to the 75th Anniversary of the Central Library building. The goal of this project was to "provide information related to the Trumbauer exhibit as well as promote Central Library, provide access to historical documents that are currently unavailable to scholars or the public and commemorate the original building of Central Library". << In order to assure a quality project, pages and applications must be tested before being deployed. In addition to creating the majority of the test documentation for this project, I coordinated the tests between three test groups within the organization. << As a public library system, the Free Library of Philadelphia requires that sites be accessible to the largest number of users possible. I designed a text-based menu in javascript as the navigation for this project to create a more accessible site to users of screen readers. This menu was tested by internal users on Accessible workstations. << It is always a challenge in web design to place content into a web format that was originally paper or physical. The grant funding this project required a digital "exhibit" to reflect the exhibit mounted in the physical Library. We were able to create exhibit pages that, in addition to containing all the images and text from the physical exhibit, also incorporated description that could not fit into the cabinets.
